Once I heard the story of how Erik proposed to Courtney, I decided it was too cute not to share!
So here goes….
Every year the couple goes white water rafting in Maine with friends. Now Erik and Courtney were friends long before they started dating so it only seems appropriate that this moment should happen amongst the people closest to them. While floating down the river, Erik surprised Courtney by getting down on one knee in the shallow water in front of everyone! Bear in mind, they just spent the afternoon maneuvering through the rough, white waters of the Dead River so hanging on to an expensive engagement ring seems risky to say the least but Erik had already thought ahead! The ring he proposed with was from a gumball machine, costing a mere 25 cents. She received the real deal ring once on the safety of dry land.
This story seemed even more appropriate considering their wedding ceremony took place outdoors at Cascade Park alongside the Pemigewasset River and neighboring falls with their reception at The Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery. Nestled in the White Mountain National Forest, the setting seemed reminiscent of the day Erik proposed.
Courtney and Erik’s wedding day was such a great day with a fun couple surrounded by a fantastic group of family and friends! We were so pleased to have been a part of it.
